Verl, Germany, 21 September 2026. UDL InterMEDIA Group is asking operators, users, journalists and bloggers around the world a simple question: Which internet projects have made you stop and think, “Who came up with that?” A new permanent submission page now accepts both self-submissions and recommendations discovered elsewhere on the web.

UDL does not want to compile the list itself

The call is deliberately open. Instead of publishing another automatically assembled list of supposedly quirky websites, UDL InterMEDIA wants people to point to projects they genuinely find unusual: operators can submit their own work, users can recommend discoveries, and journalists or bloggers can send projects, trends or stories that may deserve a closer editorial look.

THE QUESTION“Which internet idea last made you ask: who came up with that?”

UDL’s own projects are examples, not the focus

The idea grew out of projects in UDL’s own network that do not fit neatly into standard categories. Examples include World Internet Domino, Intermedia-Reisen, EgoKrieg and Vom PC zur KI.

They merely illustrate the kind of unusual, creative, curious or experimental ideas UDL has in mind. The actual purpose of the campaign is to discover what exists beyond UDL’s own portfolio.

Free submissions, editorial selection

Submitting a project is free. There is no paid inclusion, no paid placement and no guarantee of publication. UDL InterMEDIA reviews submissions editorially and decides whether a project may later be featured in the newsroom, a themed collection or a separate editorial story.

Projects can be submitted through the web form or by email to presse@udl-intermedia.com. Providing an email address in the form is optional and is only needed if follow-up questions are welcome.

Submissions can become future stories

The campaign is intended as an ongoing editorial project. Interesting submissions may lead to future coverage of unusual web ideas, unexpected business models, digital experiments or distinctive internet culture. The size of a project is not what matters; the story behind it is.

UDL is expanding its newsroom beyond its own project updates

With this open call, UDL InterMEDIA is taking another step toward developing its newsroom as a broader editorial area. In addition to updates from its own network, selected external tips and stories may be covered when they fit the editorial theme.
